Working on my costume

So I don't think I ever mentioned that out of the choices I talked about earlier, I decided to do the vampire thing for my costume. I've been working on making a skirt for the costume for nearly two weeks. It's just about done. I have to put in the zipper and finalize the waist design and then I'll be done. I dug out the vampire fangs that my mother made me years ago and it still fits my mouth perfectly.

Now I have to think about the accessories.
I started keeping a Kaboodle list of all Vampire accessories I've seen in the last few days. Some I like, some not so much.

I might get some gloves or vampire jewelry to wear, but I'm not sure. I thought about getting a wig, but I don't really think I want to deal with the hassle that wigs can create. I'll probably just do my regular hairstyle.

I still need to find a top to wear with the skirt I made. The skirt is pencil style and high-waisted. In my head I imagined a sort of ruffled, higher collared top in a deep red color. However, in my search for this imagined top, I have not been able to find anything remotely similar to it. I'm running out of time, my first costume party is a week from this Saturday. I'd make a top like what I'm imagining, but I don't think I have the time to come up with a design/pattern and then construct the garment. Has anyone seen anything out there that like that I might be able to use?

I've also decided to make a cape. Not like the kind you'd buy from the costume store. In my mind I imagined a simple, shorter cape, no longer than my waist. I went to the fabric store to get material for this cape, but I couldn't decide on which fabric to buy. I couldn't decide if I should do red or black, sheer or opaque, lightweight or heavier. Any suggestions on a type of fabric I should use?

Finally, I'm excited about playing with some makeup ideas. Definitely some dramatic eyes and red lips.

I'm still undecided what sort of Vampire I want to be. A scary looking one or more of fashionable female Vampire.

This post is mostly me thinking out loud about my costume and what's left to be done on it. Of course I'd love to hear feedback from anyone on these thoughts.
