Feeling Sentimental

About this look…
Obviously my favorite outfit combination this season has been wearing sweaters over button up blouses. I realized that I hadn’t worn my sheer bird print blouse so I pulled out that and my Banana Republic cashmere sweater. Boom—easy outfit!

Tortoise "Number One" sunglasses - Karen Walker | Bird print blouse - Line & Dot (shop similar) | Red cashmere sweater - Banana Republic | Astoria necklace - Jewelmint | Rose gold chronograph watch - Michael Kors | Gold buckle bracelet - Poshmark | Blanc bomb ring - Jewelmint | Curb chain bangles - Forever 21 | Rhinestone bangle - J Crew | Black "Everyday" bag - Rebecca Minkoff | Skinny jeans - Gap 1969 | Brown lace-up wedge booties - Deena & Ozzy

Thought of the day…
Bear with me, this is going to be a senti moment. As you may know, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area about two and a half years ago for my job. I didn't know anybody and it was a really big change for me. My work family, as I like to call them, were a really big help in making me feel welcome here and introducing me to all that the Bay Area has to offer. As time goes on, more and more of these family members have moved on to new opportunities, but what I love about it is we’ve remain connected. When we get together, I leave feeling so revived and energized! I just love them I want to thank them for all they've done to make this place feel like home.

It's sad for me, too, that many of my favorite members have left your workplace! But I'm happy to still see what you gals are up to with other forms of social media so I don't have to miss them so much :) Glad you have made strong enough friendships that they go well beyond the workplace and that you lovely ladies all still stay in touch. And I love that sheer bird blouse. So great for jazzing up basic sweaters and such.

Awww, I totally understand. I quite often move to places where I know no one, but I've always had the comfort of having my significant other with me. It takes time to meet people who you truly like and want to spend time with, and the easiest place to do so is at work. I'm sorry to hear that your work family is splitting up for new opportunities, but I'm happy to hear you still remain close. Sometimes it's better not to work with friends. And besides, you have some rad blog friends who want to hang out with you any time you'd like! :)

I agree with Amber, but I would add that it has been inspiring to see the amazing places everyone goes. I really do feel Kaboodle is a special "place."

You look super powerful in red and I love this easy fashion forward style.

Thanks, Ali! I'll have to make an effort to incorporate red into my outfits more often!

Aw, I'm so happy to hear that Adiel! I gotta say I had the exact same situation in Boston- I knew almost no one there and my family was all across the country, but my coworkers were so wonderful they really became a second family to me :) I'm glad you've had the same experience!
