Fixed up in Fur

About this look...
I don't wear dresses quite as often as I used to and I decided to do something about it. I scored this dress nearly a year ago at Ross for only $7 and it hasn't had much play. That's why it made perfect sense to pair it with this Miilla suedette jacket I snagged from my latest Stitch Fix (Pssst... have you signed up yet?). The simple base of the outfit made it so I could pull out not just my fur trim gloves, by my fur stole as well! For a bit of color, I grab my new favorite handbag!

Thought of the day...
When the topic of movies comes up and someone asks, "Have you seen the movie _______?" my answer is more often than not a sheepish, "No."

Why?
I'm not sure actually.

For one thing, I have a hard time turning on older movies. I've forced myself to rent "classics" on Netflix and when they arrive, they just sit.
For months.
And then I send them back.

It's not that I don't enjoy watching movies, because I surely do! And if someone I'm with wants to watch a movie I haven't seen, I'll probably watch it with them. I just don't make much of an effort to do it on my own.

It took me ages to see movies like "Pretty in Pink", "The Breakfast Club", "Dumb & Dumber", "Dirty Dancing", "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and a slew of other movies that might surprise people.

But what will probably shock you more is the list of movies that I have not seen. I don't really want to take the time to list them all right now, but let's just say that "When Harry Met Sally" is on the way from Netflix. What do you think, will I actually watch it?

And, just for fun, let's play a little game. Leave a comment with a classic or cult-fave movie and try and guess if I've seen it.
Good luck!

fab outfit. Love it, so chic.  Heathers.  Tell me you've seen Heathers...I'm going to guess....yes you've seen it?  When Harry Met Sally is great. Especially because it has one of those oft parodied/imitated well known scenes in it: the restaurant scene.  Plus it has Meg Ryan with her natural, non-plastic-surgified, face.

Awww, nope I haven't seen Heathers. Although I've been told many times that I should and it is on my "one day I'll watch it" list. I promise.

And even though I've never seen WHMS, I know that scene all too well. ;)

Two things. 1. Great bun in that last shot. Really. How do you do it? 2. Watch "When Harry Met Sally!" Force yourself- you won't be sorry!

Thanks, Sarah! And I will definitely try to watch it! ;)

This is such a great January look. I feel like I can't play your game, because I haven't seen any classic movies :)

That's quite alright with me. You've seen almost all of my favorite TV shows and can quote them with me so I'm perfectly fine with that!

A lot of my favorites are of the cult variety. I am going to blanket guess you haven't seen any: Seven, 12 Monkeys, The Adventures of Sebastian Cole, Babes in Toyland, Boondock Saints, But I'm a Cheerleader, The Crow, Cube, Donnie Darko, Grosse Pointe Blank, Hackers, The Hunger, The March of the Wooden Soldiers, Re-Animator, Saved!, Say Anything..., Small Soldiers, Starship Troopers, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, True Romance, The Warriors, Zombie.

Some that aren't cultish but I'm still going to guess you haven't seen (and should!): The American President, Arsenic & Old Lace, Bring It On 1-5, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Clue, Drive Me Crazy, Empire Records, Kate & Leopold, LA Confidential.

Some I'm going to assume you HAVE seen (for my sanity): Clueless, Dirty Dancing, Fight Club, Lady & the Tramp, The Matrix, Nightmare Before Christmas, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sleeping Beauty.

Oooh, I'm happy to say I've seen a couple in your first list (But I'm a Cheerleader and Saved!). I think I saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when I was a kid and I definitely watched Drive Me Crazy. And I have to make you a little crazy by telling you I have not seen Fight Club, Nightmare Before Christmas or The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Sorry! ;)

Adiel said...

Okay, okay. I'll bump those up to the top of this list. :)

Yay! Thanks! I love when I successfully make my legs appear long!

Haha, that does make me crazy. Sounds like Adam up there needs to make you see Rocky Horror AT THE VERY LEAST.
