Grey Cheetah

About this look...
While I didn't get up early to check out the Jason Wu for Target collection in person, I did stop by for hangers (I never seem to have enough!) and a bunch of cleaning supplies. Whenever I go there, I can't help but peruse the entire place. I have a little route through the store actually! First I stop by the clothing then wander into the handbags and jewelry. Next it's around the corner into the shoe department then across the aisle into the pajamas and workout attire. Then it's through the media department and into home decor! Finally, I cut through the office supplies into the beauty department where I usually end up staring at the nail polish before checking out. I know, I'm a weirdo.

Because of this habit of mine, I ended up spying this ahhhmazing grey cheetah print jeans for only $23! I've been wanting a pair and at that price, I really couldn't resist. I've never tried jeans from Target, but to my surprise they are actually pretty nice! My only complaint is since I purchased them from the juniors department, they're a little lower cut than I usually buy my jeans.

To debut them, I decided to wear them with an all grey/black items for a desaturated look. For just a touch of color, I swiped NARS's Heat Wave on my lips. Voila!

Thought of the day...
Confession time. Since moving away from my stylist in Utah nearly three years ago, I haven't been treating my hair very kind. At first I would still go see Zach when I was visiting family, but after a while, that became too difficult. Time between trips was getting longer, and the salon isn't anywhere near my parents' houses so it was a hassle to get down there.

So I ended up doing a lot of Yelp research and tried a salon in Palo Alto. It's probably because I got spoiled having someone so talented doing my hair, but my experience there left me in tears. Zach could give me the perfect haircut for me without any direction, he was just that good. This lady wanted me to flip through magazines and point out hairstyles and colors. When I finally picked a color, she didn't even get it right. While she didn't destroy my hair or anything, she left me with a cut and color that was so wrong for me. I was totally bummed.

For a long time after that, I stuck to trimming my own bangs and dying my own hair all one color with stuff from the beauty supply store. Turns out there is a reason why there is training for this sort of stuff (duh). And now I'm getting a color correction treatment done on my hair tomorrow by a lovely lady who I met through some great friends. I'm sort of nervous to see how it turns out. Wish me luck!

First off, these jeans are AMAZING on you! What a score! I love this subdued look, but I also can't wait to see them paired with some neon!

So sorry about your bad hair experience! While I like to play it cool with all my "it's just hair" talk, I know how upsetting it can be to have an appointment go astray! Good luck!

Yes, neon is definitely next on my list! Just you wait!

Ha, I just tried those pants on last weekend while seeing what was left of the Jason Wu stuff a couple hours after open.  The pair I tried on seemed overly faded in the front, so I passed on them. Plus, I figured my husband would never let me live it down if I got a pair.  He'd follow me around singing "Animal Print pants out control...I'm sexy and I know it..."  It's his new joke. If I sigh (ahh), he says, girl look at the body. He's funny like that sometimes. Anyway, went off on a tangent...you look great in your Animal Print Pant Out Control, and i like the subdued look here with the gray.  It will be fun to dress them up with brights, too. Leave it to you to make me really reconsider something I decided to pass on ;)

1. I'm having a love affair with those pants from afar because I want the yellow ones but when I tried them on, I'm not sure they were me me. I felt too old to be wearing them and left them behind but now I can't get them out of my mind!

2. Your hair does not look as awful as you describe it, but I know that one scrutinizes themselves too closely when others can't even tell. I think your hair looks great as is, but cant wait to see what you do with it!
