Style Challenge: Turban

About this look...
I've had this turban since last July and every time I try to wear it, I end up taking it off before I leave the house. When thinking about why I do this, I realized that I didn't like the way it smashed my bangs down against my forehead. But now that I'm growing out my bangs, I don't really have that problem anymore! In fact, it's incredibly helpful during the weird in between stage of growing out hair. Which is why today's style challenge is an absolute perfect excuse to finally leave the house wearing my turban!

I have to give all the credit for this mani to Punam of Nothing Broken. I spotted her wearing this color combo, a different one on each nail and I thought it was brilliant. So brilliant that I had to duplicate it!

By the way, how cute is this little courtyard at my apartment? I love all of the flowers, the grapefruit tree, and the lemon tree! I really need to come down to this semi-secret garden and drink my passion iced tea lemonade more often!

You look fantastic! I've considered getting a turban for bad hair day but haven't taken the plunge. You've got me thinking about it again!

I have these silk harem pants from Israel (a rich blue with white and pink flowers and flourishes) And they are so hard to style. They have the elastic banding around the top but it looks weird both under and over shirt, so I never know what to do w/ them!!

Any advice would be great!!!

Thank you so much Virgina! I'd definitely like to stay in touch! xx

Hey Rachel! Do you have any photos of them? Where do they sit on your waist I'm wondering if they would look good with a cropped top that barely skims the top. That way don't have to worry about tucking a top into them.

Adiel said...

Haha! You are too funny! Thanks for the warning! ;)

Thank you so much, Ashley! xx

this is what they look like. http://www.etsy.com/listing/82304288/silk-saree-harem-pants-turquoise-paisleythey sit right at the hips, but I can raise them if need be… and a crop top would look terrible on me! lolRachelwww.listsfromtheheart.blogspot.com

No way, I'd bet you'd look ahhmazing in a turban!

Adiel said...

Thank you, Asher!

Adiel said...

Thank you, Cacy! ;)

Adiel said...

Ah, I'm right there with you, can't rock a crop top! ;)

I wonder if you could take them in to a tailor and have a bit of the excess fabric removed to make them a little easier to style. The only other thing I can think is to tuck a basic tank top into it and maybe disguise the elastic with a scarf, sash, or belt. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

RachelFelson said...

hmmmm…. i did just go belt shopping last weekend :) if all else fails, the tailor is a great idea!

thanks

I`m hijabi, sometimes I wore turban for my daily outfit. Its gonna be fun if you try another style of turban (you can check my post if you want.hehehe) and of course turban will become your bad hair solution.
