How To Wear Your NYE Dress After the Party

How To Wear Your NYE Dress After the Party

The ball has dropped, the confetti and balloons have been cleaned up, and your sparkly holiday frock is hanging sadly in your closet; the new year is here! But that doesn't mean you can't wear that sequin dress again! I'm a firm believer that sequins and glitter aren't meant only for special occasions. In fact, I try to work it in to my daily outfits on the regular and I encourage everyone to resolve to wear more sparkle in 2013!

Much like the sequin skirt I wore in November, the secret to making the sequins dress work in the daytime is pairing them with casual basics. Belting a heather grey raglan top over this sequin dress hides the keyhole back and makes it instantly more appropriate for the daytime. tights and a military anorak make it a January-weather-appropriate ensemble. I couldn't resist wearing my brand new shoes, but I think this outfit would have worked will with a pair of flat or low ankle boots as well.

I absolutely agree with you on this post! The sparkly sequin pieces are too precious to just rot away in your closet perhaps for another chance to shine at the next NYE party and dressing them down with simple, casual pieces is a perfect way to give them new life! I love that sequin dress worn like a skirt!
