Wedding Wednesday: The Cake

Our wedding cake was made by the sweetest gal from my mom's church. I knew we didn't need a big cake because we would be serving our guests cake pops and we decided that we have no use for saving the top of the cake. With very little direction, she made us the sweetest little masterpiece with an adorable and delicious ombre cake on the inside (so bummed that there isn't a picture of that!).

The cake cutting was supremely awkward--one doesn't really need four hands to cut a slice of cake! And holding this position for all the photos was sort of hilarious!

And thankfully my husband knew me well enough to know better than to smash cake in my face-- despite the crowd chanting for it to happen! I sure love that guy!

Haha, these photos are great. I love all the photos where you two look like you're trying really hard to cut that cake a millimeter at a time. I think we didn't even do cake cutting at my wedding. That part is a blur in my mind but I think we just had someone else cut it, haha.

Thanks, Amy! I thought so, too! :)

Hahaha that's exactly what it felt like, a millimeter at a time! ;) That bite that was photographed was the only bite we had. My family ate the rest of the little guy after we left. That's exactly why I didn't even bother with a big, over-the-top cake.
