The Return of the Skort

Every now and then I go through a silly thing in my mind where I don't want to buy things that lots of other people have, even if I really, really like it. Right now I'm deep into that mindset. So when I spotted this Zara skort in white, I fell in love. The cut of the front hemline is just exquisite. But everyone seemed to have it, so I wrote it off as something I refused to buy. Then I came across it in this stunning cobalt blue color in the store and knew my wishes had been granted! Naturally, it came home to my closet.

When the weather hit the 80's, I finally broke it out for it's debut. I rocked it with a polka dot blouse and   striped pumps with clear accessories. I'm also looking forward to remixing it several times over the next few months! The funny thing about this piece is that something about it, perhaps that it's not a skirt, but not a pair of shorts, reminded me of the skirt from my high school cheerleading uniform. And it's making me long for many articles of clothing from childhood, skorts included!

So what do you think? Are skorts back? And if yes, will you wearing them?

I saw the white one at Zara and it intrigued me. The blue is even more pretty! It's my favorite color, and I think the hemline in front is adorable!

I'm like you...I don't like to buy something everyone has, and as much as I loved that Zara skirt in white, everyone had it! I think I actually like it better in blue, but I haven't seen that color in our stores...
