Winning Workout Wear

Winning Workout Wear

I've been dancing in one form or another for most of my life, but when I found my life as an adult void of choreography, I felt a little incomplete. That is until I discovered Zumba a few years back. Now it's become my happy place, my way to ease the stress. I can just take to the floor to shimmy and sweat my cares away.

A few months back, I discovered a studio close to my office (Uforia Studios--holla!) that offers Zumba classes nearly every day. Because I attend so much more frequently than my last gym allowed, I knew I had to add a little variety to my workout wardrobe. That meant finding fun, stylish, and unique pieces that don't cost an arm and a leg (I won't name any names, you know what brand I'm talking about!). I've compiled a small list of my favorite places to shop for cute and affordable gym attire and I thought I'd share that lineup with friends of IBITTM aka YOU!

Read on to see where I discover my best finds (like these rad floral pants!)

When I shop for activewear, I tend to avoid basics that everyone else will be wearing such as plain black pants. Instead I opt for pieces with bright colors and/or fun patterns. I also love adding articles with unique cuts such as this layered tank with side cut-outs and a pleat in front.

And for my fellow Zumba fans, my footwear of choice is the Nike Free TR Twist. I used to wear cheer shoes, which I thought worked well for all the twists and turns, but then I discovered Free TR Twist and haven't looked back. However, I am considering adding a pair of Ryka's to my lineup.

My long time go-to has been Target for their ease and prices. Old Navy Active  and GapFit are other great options for that same reasons, but if you shop online, you can often score additional discounts with coupon codes. I also recently discovered Ellie.com, a site that features super stylish activewear for the fashion-minded. I've yet to snag anything from their site as my favorite pieces often sell out in my size too quick, but I definitely hope to add them to my arsenal real soon! Poshmark is another go-to for me as you can get new or gently used designer workout clothes for a fraction of the cost. Finally, my best kept secret--and where I find all my most-complimented exercise tights--are none other than Marshall's and TJ Maxx!

You look great! I've been one to always go for basic black or grey...I guess I really should try to expand my horizons and go for more color! :)

I love those pants. I'm trying out fabletics for workout gear lately. So far, pretty good quality and decent pricing, Might be similer to that Ellie site you recommended? I'm not a fan of the Target stuff. Quality isn't the same. I like MPG and I like Marika for Yoga stuff. And I scour websites for great sales on Adidas and NIke stuff, too. If you want to check out fabletics, I have a referral link http://www.fabletics.com/invite/18559068/ Shoes-wise, I've had good luck with Rykas, and Bloch makes some good dance sneakers that aren't just boring black or white. I'm using Reebok Dance UR Leads right now while Zumba instructing. Little thin, but good for turns, and the light weight is nice.

I dig those floral fitted pants! Totally agree on the prints. In fact, the only workout clothes I've ever been complimented on are a pair of neon yellow and red crazy chevron Nike shorts. Snagged them on super clearance at TJMaxx, too!

I seriously love TJMaxx and Marshalls for gym shopping because they're limited quantity so you're not going to look like everyone else at the gym.

When choosing workout clothes to exercise in, it's important to consider
such options as style, breathe-ability and one of the more important
factors that literally holds it together-support.For some good workout wears.I must recommend
