Had a super fun weekend in the Bay. Spent some time thrifting and shopping in Berekely, Emeryville, Hayes Valley and Haight Ashbury and spent waaaay too much money. This striped tunic was one of my spoils!

Also discovered some yummy places to eat with the help of Yelp and Foursquare. If you're in the area, be sure to check out any or all of the following:
House of Nanking, SF (Additional thanks to kagerade for the recommendation!)
Wally's Cafe, Emeryville (Great lentil soup, beef schwarma and baklava)
Doyle Street Cafe, Emeryville (Pictured is the veggie benedict from this place. So yum!)

...and all that Jazz!

Saturday brought two groups of my friends together. After a few delays, we all were finally able to meet up for bowling. I wasn't able to bowl, largely in part to my bad wrist. Instead I played Ms. Pacman!

Photobucket

After bowling, we got ready to go dancing. What else?
Unfortunately, Suzi and Aline weren't able to join us for dancing.

Photobucket

DJ Juggy is always so good to us! My legs are still sore from dancing that night!

Photobucket

The highlight of the night had to be the fact that we were dancing 5 feet away from Jazz players Deron Williams and Ronnie Brewer. They were also there with a player from the team that they played that night, Chris Paul. They wouldn't let us take pictures, but we were able to sneak this picture of DWill's legs...

Another night out

Just another night out with some of my friends. We got some cotton candy for the ride and I found a random hot sauce packet in the vehicle.

Photobucket

Then, of course, we danced the night away. This is seriously my favorite workout! DJ Juggy was very good to us and played lots of fun music!

Photobucket

I've got to find something better to wear out dancing. I'm tired of wearing the standard jeans and a top...

Saturday Night

Just another night out with some of my girlfriends...

Photobucket

I guess I should also mention that Marrdy nominated me for the "Lemons to Lemonade" award on her blog.

I'm not sure I deserve it cos I'm not going to play by the rules and nominate anyone. Sorry Marrdy! Love you anyway and thanks for the award!

P.S. How is this already my 400th post? Holy geez!

Friday night

Friday night a small group of my friends got together to attend a birthday function at Circle Lounge. It was black and red themed that night. The boys were party poopers and for the most part opted out of having their photos taken.

Lagoon

My company's Lagoon day was this past weekend. Despite the fact that it was organized in the strangest fashion that I've ever seen, and despite the fact that the weather reports were calling for 50% chance of a thunderstorm, I decided to go.

We arrived at the park just in time for the lunch part of the day. Marrdy's son took a picture of the two of us in our company t-shirts, but we both look so terrible in that picture due to lighting and angle, I decided to spare us the humiliation. My new skimmer shoes were digging at the back of my ankles so I had to hunt down some band-aids, but as soon as the band-aids were in place, all was well.

After lunch, Sean and I took off to go on some rides. Despite being easily prone to motion sickness, I love rollercoasters.

After riding most of the roller coasters, we went walking through Pioneer Village. Despite the many, many times that I've been to Lagoon and Pioneer Village before, there were a couple of places that I had never seen before.

Shortly after this last photo was taken, it started pouring rain. Sean and I took shelter inside the "Rock Church" while we waited for the worst of it to pass. After the rain let up, we decided to take off.

I am pretty bugged though because I lost my O-gloss, again! I guess I should just stick to the cheap lip glosses because those stick around in my purse for a long time. As soon as I spend $22 on a lip gloss, it's gone forever.

Weekend recap

I know I'm late and at this point, most people probably don't care what I did this weekend, but for Marrdy's sake I'm gonna update you anyway.

Friday, I had to get off work early to ride the bus down to that night's football game with the squad. I tell you, forty-five minutes on a school bus in rush hour traffic can sure make a person sick. It wasn't too bad though because I had Gossip Girl on my iPod to occupy the time.

When we got to the school, we were walking onto the field and the first thing we see is a gigantic blow up tunnel for the team to go from the building to the field on. When they did finally come on to the field, there was smoke coming out of the entrance and dozens and dozens of balloons let go.

Next, we notice the have an AstroTurf field.

Then, we see a few of their cheerleaders walking down the track dragging big black boxes behind them. I could not for the life of me imagine what they were for. Once the game started, we had the answer.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, they were cheering on top of the boxes. Wendy made a great point when she asked, "Isn't the point of going to a football game to watch the football game? The cheerleaders are just an added bonus that are there to support. Shouldn't the cheerleaders not be blocking the crowd's view of the game?" Those probably aren't her exact words, but I think I summed up her point pretty well.

The entire game my mind was struggling to come up with how this idea was conceived and how anyone could possibly think it was a good idea. The most movement they could do with their feet was the basic step-touch. When they got off the boxes to dance, they struggled with the choreography. Wendy made the observation that they probably aren't used to using their feet when they cheer so maybe that is why they couldn't dance.

To confuse my brain even further, Wendy's sister who is also a high school cheer coach told her that she knew of a school that cheered standing on top of bar stools. I don't know about you, but that just sounds outright dangerous to me.

I think Wendy, in her infinite wisdom, summed it up best when she told me that she was glad that she coached at a school that didn't have much money so that they didn't forget what a football game is really about. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Saturday, I spent some time with my sister at our father's house while I made a necklace.

That evening, Sean and I went to the state fair. As we were walking up to the ticket booth, out of nowhere, this girl handed me two passes to get in. Talk about right place at the right time. We browsed the booths and displays, sampled the array of carnival food and decided against going on any of the rides. I had a great time people watching, state fairs bring out all kinds of people. I had an awesome time there.

After the fair, we browsed up the mall for a bit. I ended up with some cute knee socks and a pair of tights. Can't wait for the weather to cool down now so I can start wearing them

Sunday, Sean and I went out to breakfast. Later, we had Sunday dinner at his house.

I was kind of a slacker with the camera this weekend and have no other pictures to show you. I'm gonna have to try to be better with the photos this week. Also, I picked up my laptop from my brother. We wiped the hard drive, I kind of welcome the clean slate. However, no one can quite remember the password for the internet at my house, so until someone does, I'm still not really able to connect at home. Sadly, this means posts will be scarce from me.

I'll be back soon though, so stick around!
XOXO Adiel

Playing catch-up

As, I mentioned in my last post. I've kind of been wrapped up in enjoying the remainder of the warm summer days. Sadly, there are few left! I'm hopelessly behind on my Google feed reader, I don't think I'll ever catch up. If you want me to read your blog posts, the best way is to comment on my blog. I always visit the blogs of the people that comment on mine regularly.

Here are some of the things I've neglected to mention...

Last month, Sean's parents celebrated their 30th Anniversary. I was able to attend the surprise party that was thrown in their honor.

Here are some more pictures from my weekend in Colorado...

Here are some photos from the first football game that my girls cheered at.

Here are some photos from a camping trip Sean, Mike, Traci and I went on recently in San Rafael, Utah.

That is all for now!

Weekend recap

Wow, life has just kind of gotten away from me lately. I don't even know how I spend my time sometimes.

...that must mean it's time for a weekend recap!

Last weekend was the second football game of the season. The school my cheer girls are from played the high school that Wendy went to and which her sister now coaches cheer at, so it was kind of an exciting game. My girls, flying high from a stellar performance at the school earlier that day, really made me proud out there cheering their team on.

My mom, stepdad and sister came out to support me at the game. I did not plan well for the afternoon plans. Wearing a body-con dress and high heeled mary-janes didn't exactly equal comfortable attire to be climbing bleachers in. As predicted, my mom eyed my hemline and declared it too short. Gotta love my mom. :)

Our team won the game with ease! The season is looking good!

Saturday, I felt the urge to make something so I went out to the fabric store and ended up with some stuff to make some skirts. I finished one skirt late Saturday night. I think I'll be wearing it later this week so watch for that.

Sunday, Sean and I went out for some sushi. I'm not really a fan of seafood in general, but I got brave and tried some of Sean's vegas roll and ended upo really liking it. I was surprised. I just may have to try out some more sushi sometime.

Monday, the cold, wet weather ruined our plans to go to Raging Waters. Instead, Sean and I did some shopping before heading over to his parents' house for a Labor Day barbeque. Most of Sean's siblings were there and we had a good time hanging out and preparing dinner. After dinner, we played several rounds of volleyball in the freakish 50-something degree weather. I was so unbelievably cold! I'd like to blame my poor volleyball skills on that, but I don't think anyone would believe that.

After volleyball, Sean and I went to see Traitor. I had never heard of it till Sean suggested it, but I really ended up liking it. You do have to be in the mood for a serious movie and Sean made that comment that it was slower-paced than he had expected. After I got home from the movie, my night got really wild, but that is a story for another time, so watch for that!

I really enjoyed my long holiday weekend. I'll have to make time to post more often this week because I have a lot to share! Hope you all had a great weekend whether you were celebrating Labor Day or not.

Weekend recap.

I didn't really plan on doing much this weekend after what a long week I had been through. Emotionally and physically exhausted, I had just planned on curling up with Breaking Dawn all weekend and napping as I felt the need.

No such luck!

Sean ended up taking me out to dinner on Friday. We were at a sports bar so we managed to catch part of the opening ceremonies for the Olympics. I thought that their "cheerleaders" were interesting. I call them cheerleaders because it was pretty plain to me that that's what they were supposed to be. I say the pleated skirts were a dead giveaway. I did feel bad for them, step-clapping and spirit fingers for four hours in those boots can't have been fun, Olympics or no. Seeing Kobe Bryant's face on the screen over and over again made me want to throw up a little bit. Not to mention the fact that they were showing other athletes swooning all over him and getting their pictures taken with him. Ugh. Have a little self respect! Also, can someone tell me why everyone was wearing their white berets except for Carlos Boozer? George Bush was cute up there with his little American flag. I think that is it for my opening ceremonies commentary.

Saturday, my cheer girls had their first performance. I thought they did very well at it and I'm super proud of them!

Luckily, the storms took a break while they performed so they weren't rained on. I did get to see some awesome lighting later in the evening however.

Later that night, Sean and I went shoe shopping. Picky Sean couldn't find anything that was satisfactory to him and the mall is generally unsatisfactory for me these days. Everything I want is online! Then we hooked up with Mike and Traci to hang out. We watched a bit of the Olympics, got to See Michael Phelps get his first gold medal of this Olympics. Super exciting! Then Traci and I had our own Wii Olympics. I totally kicked her butt at Wii bowling for the first time, but she beat me at tennis. Mikey made us some delicious pasta and pancakes for a midnight snack.

Sunday, I finally got my wish and was able to finish Breaking Dawn and catch up on sleep.

Weekend recap.

The weekend went by far too quickly for me!

Friday night, Sean and I went out to Iggy's for some dinner. Our waiter was such a weirdo, but our food was really good. After, we came back to my house and watched Entourage and this old show called Fletch. It was funny in a "this movie is nuts" sort of way. Then, after that we fell asleep watching The Break Up.

Saturday, Steph and I were supposed to go to Amy's pool to hang out. Amy ended up caught up at the furniture store. Steph and I hung out with our little step-sisters for a while (Steph, I want those pictures!), then we wandered Target for an hour. I got another Gryson bag for really cheap and some studded sandals while I was there. Finally we were able to meet Amy at her pool. We girls hung out by the pool and swam for a bit before we had to leave for our evening plans.

I went out with some girl friends Saturday night. Jamie, Nicole, Brandi, Anna, Neyra and I went out to the Sky Bar for a night of dancing. I had an absolute blast despite the fact that the Sky Bar was void any remotely cute guys to dance with. All of the pictures are on Nicole's camera so I'll have to post them when I get them from her.

Sunday, we celebrated my mom's birthday. We all went up there for dinner.

[Clearly she's happy about Steph's gift]

[My mom poses with the lamp Adam bought her.]

[We're oh so attractive when distracted]

Now my mom wanted to get some family pictures taken while we were all together. Here are some of the outtakes from said photoshoot.

Dinner was lots of fun and after we played a little Wackee 6, which I almost won!

That was my weekend! How was yours?

Weekend recap.

After work on Friday, I had to run some errands. I ended up at Target and decided that storing my shoes in laundry baskets has gotten pretty ridiculous. I was looking for some shelves that I thought might work. They didn't have anything that I loved, but I found some melamine shelves for just $12 so I decided to give them a try. I also tried on a bunch of things from the Go International line and I left with these three items.

I don't know if I love the way the shorts look on me and I don't know what to wear that red top with so they might go back to the store. I love the black top though. I wore it this weekend. I also got a studded belt for only $2.50, I'm going to have to get creative with it though.

When I got home from Target I put together the shoe shelves, but there were a couple problems. My high heels don't fit too well in the allotted space, not all of my shoes fit on the shelves and there isn't really enough room for my clothes to hang and my shelves. See for yourself:
I need more closet space.
Or less clothes and shoes.
If you have any suggestions for my storage problems, let me know.

Later that night, Sean and I met up for dinner and then we went to see the 10:20 showing of The Dark Knight. Wow, that movie brought out the crowds. There were so many people there and we kept running into people that we knew. All I'm going to say about the so I don't spoil it for anyone is that it was long. We didn't get out of the theater till about 1 AM. It was so worth it though.

Saturday, I spent a good portion of the day reading more of The Host. Reading of course led to me falling asleep.

My little brother got his mission call this week. We all went over to my dad's house for him to open it. While we were waiting for everyone to show up, there was a little DDR going on. Randall's girlfriend Jacquie was also taking votes of where he might go. After opening the letter, the news is that Randall will be serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Quito Ecuador mission. He will be leaving October 1st. I'm super proud of my brother and I will be sad to see him leave, but I think its great that he's doing the things he believes in.
[Dance, Dance Revolution!]

[The list of guesses]

[Steph and Randall]

[Randall talking to our Mother, who was in Portland for work]

After leaving my dad's, I went with a bunch of my friends down to Keys on Main. It was my first time there and I had a great time. It was nice to just relax and hang out with my friends.
[Christina and I]

[The girls]

[Traci and I]

Sunday, I spent more time reading and nearly finished the Host. Later, Sean and I went down to Gateway for some delicious food at Happy Sumo. After eating, we walked around the mall for a bit. Surprisingly enough, in the hour we spent there, I didn't buy a single thing. I did get to check out a few of the things I've been eyeing online. The only bad thing about this wonderful afternoon is when I got pooped on by a bird, smack dab on top of my head. So gross!

When we got home, we watched The Island. I had never seen that movie before, and despite hearing many bad things about it, I've always wanted to. Turns out, I quite liked it.

That was my weekend. I was kind of lame and didn't get a single full-bodied outfit picture. I'll have to be more diligent with it from now on.

Hope you all had good weekends as well!

Weekend recap

Wow, what an eventful weekend! I hardly had any time at home and no time to catch up on sleep either! Let's get right into it!

Friday, I was going to go with Zach to the REO Speedwagon/Styx concert at Usana, but he ended up having to work too late. Instead, Sean and I went out to dinner. He was craving some Texas Roadhouse, but I wasn't very hungry because I had eaten a huge lunch. We got to the South Towne location a little before 7 PM, but it was already packed. They told us the wait was 45 minutes, but I didn't mind so we put our name on the list and found a seat on some benches at the front door. It was a prime people watching location. Mostly I just picked apart people's outfits in my mind while Sean played his PSP. The wait ended up only being a little over 20 minutes before our number came up on the screen.

This is where the trouble began.

We walked up to the host's booth where there were six employee's standing. Every last one of them was trying to help a guy that had made reservations at the wrong location. Apparently he had a large group he was trying to get seated and didn't understand that there was more than one location. (Duh!) The hosts were going to seat them anyway! I thought that was kind of lame. Meanwhile, Sean and I are just standing there getting ignored and other parties were getting seated while we stood there looking like fools. I was getting pissed and kind of mouthy, so we finally got seated. By the time our server arrived for our drink orders, we had had enough time to decide what we wanted to eat. While waiting for our food, we basically got lap dances from the servers who were doing line dances right up against our table every third song. Not only were the claps and stomps loud and distracting from having an enjoyable time, but who was helping the customers while they were busy getting down with their bad selves? No wonder they were so backed up at getting people seated. After getting our food, we didn't see our server again till she brought us a check. Great service, let me tell you. I'm probably going to resist ever going back there again and you probably shouldn't either.

After dinner, we went down to Jordan Commons to see what movies were playing. There was nothing playing that we wanted to see for a while so we just decided to rent Gladiator because I had never seen it. Funny story, Sean thought of that movie because I was wearing my gladiator sandals that night. Once we got home though, we ended up watching Ocean's Thirteen with Val and Jan. Its was a super fun night.

Saturday, I met Nicole at the pool and hung out there for a few hours. It was so hot, but I loved every minute of it. I got a huge chunk of The Host read. I'm loving it so far! [Nicole and I at the pool]

I took a much needed nap after the pool before I met up with Mike and Traci to head to Scott's birthday party. I had a great time hanging out there even though I was one of the small handful of single, non-parents there. We spent the night at Scott and Kelly's.
[Mike's lip gloss is popping!]

[Traci and I]

[A picture of the boys]

[Upside down!]

I woke up to Traci trying to swat a fly with a bug zapper about a foot from my face. Let me tell you, thats a very startling way to wake up. We ate McDonalds for breakfast, which was actually very satisfying, and then got ready to head out for Utah Lake. We spent several hours on the lake wakeboarding, tubing and just hanging out. I got the best air I've ever gotten on a wakeboard and nearly cleared the wake. It was utterly thrilling and I was quite proud of myself. On the tube, I was getting tossed around like a rag doll. At one point I was getting bounced so hard and so high that my legs bounced up and my feet hit me in the back of the head. Another time, I was whipped off the tube a rolled across the top of the water a few times before going under. I was laughing so hard, but oh boy does my back, neck and shoulders hurt today! I also have a little bit of a sunburn today!

After I got home, Sean came over and we actually watched Gladiator. I didn't see the whole thing because I was so exhausted from the weekend that I kept falling asleep.

That was my weekend!

Just a quick side note to all the people coming over from SITS today. Thanks everyone for the comment love! I hope I get a few subscribers out of today! I will be responding to every comment as quickly as I can. They're coming in so fast though, by the time I woke up this morning, my blackberry had 36 new emails, about 90% of them being blog comments! Already I'm at my highest hit count in the past 30 days, and its only noon!
What a great start, right?

4th of July 3-Day-Weekend Recap

My lovely three-day-weekend started out Friday morning with me going to the pool with Steph and Amy. We had a good time, laying out, chatting, eating junk food and cheering for the cute and not cute divers. Steph and Amy left after a couple of hours, but I stayed behind to spend some time reading. After the pool, Sean and I headed over to the Lewin's barbeque to meet up with everyone. Shortly after, we all took off to Sugarhouse for an awesome fireworks show.

[Steph can't wait for the fireworks!]

[Sean and I lounging around, waiting for the show.]

[Steph and I]

[A taste of the fireworks show]

["Moo," said Sean as the 50,000 estimated people headed back to their cars]

I had a really delicious tiger's blood Snowie and did some people watching while we waited. Once the fireworks started, we discovered our spot was not such a good pick as the fireworks were behind a tree. We had to scramble for a new place to watch. I ended up getting real itchy from the grass and got a mosquito bite on my earlobe! Despite the road closures all over Sugarhouse, we were able to make it to the freeway in 20 minutes time. I was super glad that we decided to go there for fireworks.

Saturday, Sean and I hung out all morning, goofed off and wasted the morning away. After he left, I read my book some more and did some highly overdue cleaning of my bedroom. Later, Sean and I went to our favorite, Joy Luck for some dinner and went to see Hancock. Most people that I've talked to say that they thought that movie was just alright, but I really liked it. I guess I'm easy to please.

Sunday, I decided to laze around a bit more and read all morning. I finally finished my book! After that, I spent a fantastically relaxing day around the house.

That about sums it up!
Make sure to check out the shoutout box and the new poll that I added on the right. Maybe you should vote then leave a shoutout!

Weekend recap, and then some.

Life has been pretty hectic for me. I haven't really had a free moment to sit down in front of the computer lately.

Last week was cheer camp for the squad that I'm the assistant coach of. It was decided that a private camp would be best for our squad this year. That took a lot of planning on Wendy's part, I'm completely amazed at her ability to pull something like this together. It went extremely well I think, I don't have anything like it to compare it to. We had several people come in a do stunting, tumbling and dance workshops. All of them were so great! We made it past the few bumps that generally arise in any cheer squad at camp. We made it through an ankle injury. I got through all the bad hip-hop they had to dance to and I also choreographed for the first time in like four years. The girls learned so much and I'm super proud of them. Can't wait to see whats to come from them throughout the rest of the year. Also, all you parents out there, I had a tiny taste of knowing what its like to have a teenager. I had twelve of them! Crazy!
[Belting out "I Want You" by Savage Garden on Singstar]

[At the leadership workshop]

[Stunting, I miss doing it...]

[Learning a hip hop dance]

[The whole squad]

The weekend was pretty basic for me. Sean and I went out to dinner Friday night and ended up hanging out with Traci, Mike and Traci's family.

Saturday, I went to get my nails done and ended up getting a pedicure. I proceeded to mess it up as I got in the car to go to the pool. Leave it to me to do something lame like that. After the pool, Sean and I hung out. We watched Untraceable. Seriously, who thinks up this sick crap. Better question, why do I watch it? So gross!

Sunday, Sean and I went to The Original Pancake House. I love their food, so yummy. After that, I proceeded to read, fall asleep, and repeat. Three times. I guess I needed to catch up on some sleep considering I haven't been getting much lately. Once I finally got out of bed, Sean and I went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill. Funny story, we ordered fried mozzarella for our appetizer. When they brought our appetizer out, I thought it was strange that it came in little rings. I ate a piece anyway. I thought the texture and the taste seemed very off, but I wasn't sure so I had another. As I'm chewing the second piece, the waitress walked by and realized that someone had brought fried CALAMARI to our table instead of cheese. It all made sense, I knew that I knew that taste and it brought my right back to Mrs. Grossaint's biology class where she made us taste the fried squid we had just dissected. The best part was the look on Sean's face when he realized what he was eating. It was beyond hilarious, it made my whole weekend!

I've been pretty backed up at work with all the time I took off for cheer camp, the new responsibilities I've been having to learn and month end. I've been pretty tired after work and not been able to find time to get on the computer. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to catch up with all my blogging friends and see what they've been up to in the last two weeks!

Weekend recap.

I can't believe the weekend is over, it basically just flew by!

Friday, Sean helped me chop wood for something I'd be making later in the weekend. Later, he and I went out to dinner and a movie. We saw the Incredible Hulk. For a long time, the theater was pretty empty and there weren't any other females in there. Midway through the trailers, more people came in and I wasn't the only woman in the theater anymore. The movie was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. I liked the little tie-in at the end, but I won't say what with so that people can be surprised when they see it.

Saturday, I went boating with my dad, Lisa, and Steph. We went to Utah Lake for the first time. We each had a turn on the wakeboard and then we decided to go anchor off for lunch. We ended up on the west side of the lake and came across a wakeboarding competition. It was pretty cool to watch all the stuff those people could do. Sean joined up with us after lunch. I wasn't fully impressed with Utah Lake, we all agree that there was something about the waves and the wind made it extremely hard to wakeboard. It was so exhausting to be on the wakeboard on that lake. Also, the marina is a complete unorganized mess. I'm not sure how I felt about it. I'll have to give it another try before I form an opinion. Here is a picture I took of my dad before my camera batteries died.

After boating, Sean and I met up with Mike and Traci. We were hanging out in Mike's backyard with his dad, picking peas off the plant and eating them. Mike and Sean convinced me to try doing back a back handspring on the tramp. I tried, but I couldn't do it anymore. I haven't tried for about four years, and now I've got a mental block about it. After that, we went to get some ice cream on the way to South Jordan's Country Fest to watch fireworks.
Fireworks

[Sean and I making awesome faces]

[Traci and Mike looking normal]

After the fireworks, Traci and I wanted to ride some of the carnival rides. Traci and I convinced Mike to go with us on the Inverter, but Sean opted out, which was fine with me because that way Sean could hold my purse and take this picture of us. After that, all four of us went on this ride that was similar to the Screamer at Lagoon. At first, we were spinning forwards, and it was mildly fun. Then they switched directions so that we were spinning backwards. Not a good idea. Sean and I got so sick. It was the first time that I had ever thought that I might not make it to the end of the ride without throwing up. I thought for sure that I was gonna be that person that barfs on the ride and it flies everywhere. Luckily I made it off the ride and ended up not getting sick at all, although the motion sickness didn't go away for quite sometime. Next, Traci wanted to win a goldfish, but sadly left empty handed. When we went back to Mike's, his parents were watching some crazy killer alligator movie. It was nuts! I was so tired from the previous week that I ended up falling asleep and missing the end. What a shame.

Sunday, I had to get everything ready for cheer camp. I ran errands and made preparations all day long until it was time to head up to my mom's for Sunday dinner. My cousin Melody was there, along with my brothers' girlfriends. I decided to make a spirit stick for camp so I finished it up at my mom's. Here she is holding the stick that I made.
My mom holding the spirit stick I made
After dinner we had my mom's delicious enchilada's, chatted and played Wackee 6. My sister and I left around 9:30 pm. About a mile after we got on the freeway, we ran into a traffic jam that was at a dead stop. After a few phone calls, we discovered that the freeway was down to one lane in Kaysville for construction. It took 45 minutes to get from point A to point B.

By the time we got to point B, they were opening it back up to three lanes. It took a total of an hour and forty-five minutes to get home. It was a crappy end to my weekend, but this week should be fun with cheer camp and all.

Weekend recap

Weekend recap time!

Friday after work, Nicole and I hit up the mall before meeting up with Chaz and Phillip. I had to return a dress and ended up leaving with two clutches and another dress. After the mall, Nicole and I met up with the guys and went to dinner at Famous Dave's.

After dinner, we played Mario Kart on Wii for a bit. Let me just tell you, every time I play Wii, I want one more and more. Then we walked to Gateway to watch a movie. I was wearing my new-ish gladiator sandals and let me tell you, it was not fun to walk those few blocks it took to get there. Phil ended up having to carry me part of the way, what a good sport.

Saturday, I was supposed to go boating, but being irrational in my half-awake and overly tired state, I for some reason decided not to go. When I finally woke up in the late morning I regretted that decision. Craving some sun, I decided to go out to pool by myself. I ended having a really relaxing few hours laying out in the sun reading. The only down side was that I forgot my iPod and ended up having to listen to the pool's music.

Driving home after the pool, I decided that I needed a pedicure so I stopped at this place called V-J Nails & Spa. This lady named Ann gave me the best pedicure that I've ever received. It was so amazing that I want to start going to that place to get my nails done as well.

That night Sean and I went to our favorite dining spot, Joy Luck. The service and the food was great, as usual! Following dinner, we went to see The Happening because we're pretty big fans of Mark Wahlberg. Lets just say I was less than impressed. I'll be real honest though, I did get scared quite a bit. I'm just not a fan of all the gore and the ending. I'll leave it at that for people that haven't seen it and still want to.

Sunday, Adam, Steph and I had to do our last minute Father's Day gift shopping. We spent some time walking around the mall and I ate a yummy chocolate dipped strawberry from Godiva. We wrapped my dad's gifts with cutouts from a golf magazine. I got a picture of it that I'll have to upload when I get my camera back, I left it at my dad's.

Dinner was delicious, everyone brought something so there was loads of food. I'm pretty sure I ate my weight's worth of food. Lisa's parents, brother and his wife came over for dinner and after we all played Apples to Apples. It was a pretty loud game, but lots of fun. I went home and went to bed by 9pm and I still felt full!

All in all, a great weekend. How about you?

Weekend recap.

Another weekend, come and gone!

Friday after work, I had to go find a dress to wear to Steph's wedding. I headed for the Gateway and started out at Forever 21. I actually ended up finding a lot of stuff to try on there. I narrowed it down to two dresses (this or that with this belt). I decided on the black dress with the belt, but as I was standing in line, I found another black dress that looked cute. I decided to buy it without trying it on. I left with the two dresses, the belt, a clutch and and a vest.

Next, I went to Urban Outfitters in search of a certain dress. I couldn't seem to find it, but I did walk past a pair of Lux Cigarette Leg gray jeans. I've been wanting to buy a pair for a while now, so I tried them on and ended up getting them. I thought that they were a pair that was on my wishlist, but turns out the pair that I bought aren't available online. I had a hard time deciding on whether or not I should keep them because there was another pair on my wishlist that I really wanted. Just barely today I decided that I will keep them.

After shopping, I met up with Phil. We went out to dinner at The Dodo and then we went to see You Don't Mess With The Zohan. Oh. My. Lame. Honestly, I laughed a little, but most of the time I was shaking my head and rolling my eyes. Really, I could've gone the rest of my life without seeing Adam Sandler thrusting his stuffed crotch that much. It was also way too long. Two hours is pretty long for a comedy, I kept thinking, "Man this is a long movie!" So, yeah, I'd recommend skipping this one.

Saturday, I had to go to the cheer girls' car wash. The weather was alright. It was one of those days that it was warm in the sun, but cold in the shade. Whenever the clouds were covering the sun, it was so cold. I felt bad for the girls because they had to get wet and wash cars. I just sat huddled in my blanket most of the time. They did well though, it was nice to see so many people come out and support them.

That night I went to Steph's wedding reception. It was fun to see people that I don't see on a regular basis and get a chance to chat. The colors were black and red, Steph had picked out these super cute black dresses with white polka dots. They all wore red jewelry and shoes, it was so cute! I didn't have my camera so when I steal pictures from Nicole, I'll post them up for everyone to see.

Sunday, I finally got caught up with the rest of Season 4 of The Office. The finale was awesome. There were a ton of OMG moments, I can't wait for the next season now! Sean and I went for brunch and then we browsed around Cabela's. I found out that they have their own restaurant there, which I found mildly strange. Later, we went to see Iron Man, which I ended up really liking.

Weekend recap.

My original plans for Friday got canceled so I convinced Traci to go to downtown SLC to the Gateway mall. We both got a lot of great stuff. Later, Mike, Traci and I went to Z Tejas. Everything there was great! There was also this super cute waiter there. I totally wanted to hit on him! After that, we went back to Mikey's and showed his mom what we got. She's so great, she just adored everything we showed her. After we came home, we all totally passed out on the couch watching William Shatner's roast on Comedy Central.

Saturday, I woke up at 6:30 AM. No, that's not a typo, my body just decided, "Hey, I know its your one day to sleep in, but I don't care, you don't get to!" I tried a lot of ways to get back to sleep, but didn't feel sleepy again until probably 10AM. After a nap, I went out with Phil for lunch and hung out with him until he had to go to his football game. Next it was Steph's bachelorette party. All of us girls went out to The Spaghetti Factory for dinner, then we went out for dancing. It was super fun.

Sunday, I was super lazy. I finally got a chance to get caught up with Lost. Wow, that show is so incredible. I love every minute of it! Later, Sean came over and we watched Batman Begins.

That was my weekend. Hope yours was great as well!

Weekend recap - Lake Powell Edition

I'll try and summarize my weekend/trip to Lake Powell for you as best as I can. Obviously a 5-day trip leaves a lot to talk about.

Steph, Teri, Sean and I rode together in Sean's car. We watched Season 8 of Friends on the way so the trip went by fairly quick because we were entertained. There was a slight delay when my dad got a flat on the boat trailer, but that was quickly swapped out for the spare and they were on their way again in no time.

We arrived at the Bullfrog Marina at probably 8pm on Thursday. It took two trips across the lake to get all of our people and and our junk across the lake to the beach we decided to camp at. It was pretty chilly outside so we had to hurry to set up camp, get a fire going and get dinner ready before it got too dark. We set our tents up way up on the beach, back towards the trees/bushes.

Saturday I woke up with hopes of getting out on the lake, but the weather had slightly different plans. It was overcast with a little wind all morning, but towards noon it started to clear up just a bit so we decided to go out on the lake. By the time we got out there, it was already starting to cloud up again. Sean and my dad got some good time out on the wakeboard, but partway through Steph's ride, it started to rain. We started to head back for camp, but we didn't make it before it started to hail! It was so crazy. We got off the boat and into our tents just in time for the lightning to start up. I took a nap and when I woke up, the weather had cleared quite a bit. We went out on the water again that afternoon.

[Me, Lindy and Annie with Teri sticking her hand in.]

[Steph and I]

[Sean and I]

[Lisa and I]

Saturday the weather was a little better than the day before. I actually got out in the water for a bit. Even with a wetsuit, the cold water still took my breath away.
[Me with Sean]

[Me on the wakeboard]

Sunday ending up being mostly a gorgeous day. I spent a lot of time laying out in the sun reading and on the boat. This resulted in me getting a sunburn on my back. I guess I wasn't as diligent with the sunscreen as I had thought I'd been.

[Sean is sad because I sat on his chips. They were his breakfast.]

[Randall digging a moat for his sandcastle]

[Sean and I]

Saturday night my dad stuck this at the shoreline because he suspected the water level was rapidly rising. This is what it looked like midday on Sunday.

There was an emergency tent moving operation to get Adam, Randall, Jacquie and Amy's tent back from the shoreline. The four of them ended up leaving Sunday night anyway, but if they hadn't, their tent still would've been under water by Monday morning. The waves were coming right up to Sean's tent on Monday morning. Take a look at the picture right above, Sean's tent can be seen on the left. That should tell you just how much the water level rose.

We had to pack up camp and head home on Monday morning. The wait on the boat ramp seemed to go by quite quickly and we were on the road home by lunchtime. Entertainment for the trip home was provided by Seasons 8 & 9 of Friends. I love so much that Sean put that system in that plays DVDs. Its certainly comes in handy.

I had a lot of fun on this trip despite the weather. I want to go again real soon though and get some better weather! There are way more pictures than what I put on here, on my camera alone there were 500+ . I'll post a link to the rest once I get them all up.

Thanks to my dad, Lisa, Adam, Steph, Randall, Trevor, Jason, Carter, Miles, Annalise, Loralyn, Sean, Jacquie, Teri, Amy, Kent, Carol, Heather, Kim, and Andrew for a fun trip!

Weekend recap.

Friday I decided I couldn't watch the Jazz game. Too much stress. Glad I didn't because it sounds like it was a heartbreaker. *tear*
Instead, I went out and about with a friend.
Here are a few pictures of me on friday night.

Yeah, I'm hot

A more normal face...

I'm sporting the O-gloss and O-glow here...
Can you tell? What do ya think?

Saturday, Steph and I went shopping in preparation for Lake Powell. Later we met up with Suzi and Aline to get pedicures.

After pedicures, Suzi, Aline and I went shopping. I got a pair of denim shorts from Express, let me tell you these are the first pair I've purchased since I was probably 16. Suzi had her daughter there and I ended up holding her a lot. All I have to say is you people with kids must have buff arms. She's pretty much 25 lbs of dead weight when asleep!

Saturday night I got dinner and watched a movie with a friend. Cafe Rio is now open till 11 on the weekends. I'll bet you didn't know that, because when we went there after ten, no one was there! We were the only ones.

Sunday morning I had a craving for IHOP, random, I know. So we went out to "breakfast" at 1pm. I'm a sucker for their stuffed french toast. Yum!

Traci and her family got back from Hawaii Sunday morning so I got to catch up with all of them. I'm no longer all alone in that big house and now the dogs can have more attention, because lets face it, I don't give them what they need. Traci brought me back a cute little pineapple keychain, it was very nice of her. It was also nice to have someone to go for a run with that night.

Also, just in case you were wondering, I challenged "Bob" to buy some new shoes this weekend. He did not. I guess he needs some more encouragement.

Weekend recap.

Alright, I've put it off all day. Here comes the weekend recap...

Friday night I watched the Jazz pull off a win over the Lakers with an old friend and talked the night away.

Saturday was the W.O.W. (Women On Water) class. In preparation for the upcoming trip to Lake Powell, Steph, Lisa and I went to this class to be a better help to my dad with the boat.

Steph, Me, Lisa wearing out W.O.W. hats

Me concentrating on backing up the boat.

Yeah, I backed that up!

Saturday evening I decided to take the rest of the day for myself. I got lots of personal stuff done and enjoyed a very relaxing evening.

Sunday was Mother's Day, as you should already know. We went up to Darin's parent's in Layton for dinner.

*A quick thing that made my day*
"Yuck to the onions, yuck to the pickles, I give my pickles to Amy!" - Adam
Mother's Day balloons I'm assuming...

Out in the backyard...

My camera batteries died shortly after taking this video so most of the pictures we took are on my mother's camera.

Here is the video of my mother opening the gift from me and my siblings.
-An explanation of the video-
Steph and I decided to record her opening her gift because of the card. We happened to find the perfect card for her at the Hallmark store. It was a card that plays "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You" by Gloria Estefan when opened. My mother is a huge Gloria fan so it was such an awesome find. We knew she'd dance when she heard the card so we knew it needed to be recorded. The clothes and shoes were all from American Eagle. The mascara we got her is More Than Mascara by Estee Lauder.

Sunday evening produced a major wind storm that knocked over an awning on the back porch and a completely sleepless night for me.

...and now I'm back to another beautiful week!

Weekend recap.

Its that time again...

Friday, I went with a few people to P.F. Chang's for dinner. This was my second time ever going there and I quite enjoyed it. Later we went to a movie at The Gateway, which let out not too long after the Jazz game. Lucky us, we got stuck in the post-game traffic jam. It made me majorly carsick and I ended up having to call it a night at that point.

Saturday was Stephanie's bridal shower. It was good to see lots of girls from high school that I hadn't seen or talked to in a while. After the shower, Nicole and I went to the mall. I purchased the shoes that won in the Help me Choose from last week. I also purchased some great spring/summer clothes. The day ended up taking a lot out of me so I bailed out on my evening plans and just took it easy at home.

Sunday morning, Traci, Mike and I went for a run. The weather was gorgeous. It felt so good to be outside in the sun. I got cocky and tried to race Mike at the end, but he totally beat me.

Later I went to Tonya's farewell party/Mike's graduation party. Kellie had so much good food there. I probably ate 42 strawberries! We watched the Jazz throw away the first game against the Lakers. I can't stand watching Kobe Bryant's smug face when he plays. I was hoping that the Jazz would win so I could see Andy do a headstand. I guess I'll just have to wait for the next game. I had a great time meeting all of Mike and Tonya's friends and family. I'm really going to miss Tonya when she is gone!

After the party, I was ready for bed I guess because I went home and passed out.

Not as eventful as some of the others, but it was a good one!

Weekend recap.

Another weekend has come and gone. As usual, I can't help wondering how I spent my time because the weekend just flies by. Thats what my weekend recaps are for, a chance to reflect.

Friday I went out with some people I don't normally hang out with, Nicole, the guy she's dating and their friends. We went out to Rodizio for dinner. Now, I'm not a huge fan of eating most meat. I'm not a vegetarian, I'm just a picky eater. My first experience with Rodizio wasn't great so I wasn't thrilled that thats where we were going to eat. However, this time was much better, no pink chicken!

After playing Wii at Chaz's house, we went to the Sky Bar because it was one of their friend's last night working there. Chaz caught me in the eye with corner of a menu and now there is a cut on my eyelid! The best part was the token old-guy-loner that was asking everyone to dance. He even offered $5 for a dance! We all had a good time dancing, despite the fact that I wore the absolute wrong shoes for dancing. My feet were dying by the end of the night, but Phil was a good sport and gave me a piggy back. So Friday was a pretty fun night.

Saturday, my friend Rosa and I went downtown to mess around with her new camera. Her camera is awesome, I totally want one. We had a fun little photoshoot and got some pretty good photos out of it. Here are a few pictures from the shoot. See the rest here.

After the photoshoot, I went to my dad's to catch up on some TV on DVR. I'm not going to lie, I love watching TV. Between three jobs and personal stuff, I don't have a lot of time for it these days. So on the weekends when Lisa's kids are away with their dad, I have to go spend a few hours watching all of my shows. I finally got to watch The Office, ANTM, Lost and Ghosthunters. For some blasted reason, the DVR didn't get One Tree Hill or Grey's Anatomy. Sad, but I have little time to dwell on it. Back home, Traci and I had a little mini girls night with some good snacks and watched a movie.

Sunday, Traci and I had a little shopping adventure. First we went to get pedicures, thats always a relaxing time. Then we visited two malls and shopped the day away. I got a lot of fun stuff for the spring and summer. I'm so thrilled that the weather is warming up so that I can start wearing it. I tried to add most of it to Kaboodle, so feel free to check out my list of things that I have. Also, I was incapable of deciding on sandals to buy, so help me choose by voting here.

My weekend definitely went by too fast, can't wait for the next!

Weekend recap.

What a weekend. My entire life changed.

Friday I got to do a friend's hair and makeup for her. Thats always kind of fun. Then I went shopping with Suzi, thats always a fun time. Then I went home and got my heart and life ripped to shreds but Sean's evil twin. Traci came home and brought me some Gatorade which I thought was brilliant.

I couldn't sleep very well so I woke up bright and early on saturday. I talked to my mom for a bit. Once I managed to get out of bed and shower, I went to my dad's. I talked to my stepmom for a while, and that helped me out a bit. Then I became overcome with exhaustion and went to take a nap for a bit. After I woke up, I went to Happy Sumo and then shopping with Suzi. She is such an absolute doll. What a great friend. Later I went to a late dinner with my siblings, Amy and Jacquie. That turned out to be a nice distraction. Then after finding out Sean is an even bigger jerk than I ever could've possibly imagined, I went home and took a sleeping pill then passed out.

The sleeping pill turned out to be bad news because it made me sleep through my alarm and miss my work meeting at panty heaven/hell. I watched a trashy movie about breakup that made me feel better for a bit. Then after chatting with Traci for a bit, I sat down and watched the ANTM marathon on MTV. I had seen that cycle way too many times so I ended up falling asleep some more. After that, I went to my dad's for Randall's birthday dinner. There were so many people there, yet I managed to fall asleep once again. Crying that much sure takes a lot out of you. Dinner with the fam was nice. After that, I went home and watched Juno with Traci.

That was my crazy, life-changing, eventful weekend.
Hope you enjoyed my recap of it.

Weekend recap.

So I had a pretty busy weekend. You might have noticed due to the lack of updates on here.

Friday night, Sean and I went to our favorite dinner spot for some yummy chinese. After dinner we received our fortune cookies. I have heard somewhere that you're supposed to eat the fortune cookie before you read the fortune, so I follow that rule. However Sean was for some reason rushing me to read my fortune. I gobbled up my cookie and read my fortune. It read, "You and your wife will be happy in your life together." I told Sean what it said and he laughed and said, "You're joking right?" I replied that I was not joking, that apparently I was a lesbian. He told me he got the exact same fortune and that he had thought it was funny that his fortune mentioned wife, given the events of the last few weeks.

Saturday morning was beautiful. The weather was super nice, therefore it was a lovely day to be at the MS Walk. My cheer girls were volunteering at the walk. So we spent the morning enjoying the blue sky outside at The Gateway. It was really nice to see how many people showed up there to participate in the walk.

Later on Saturday, I went up to Park City with some girlfriends. We went out to dinner at Squatters and went dancing at Harry O's. The night was super fun despite some minor drama that involved losing my car key and the condo key. Luckily, and I never thought I'd say this, one of the girls had gone out on the balcony to have a smoke and accidentally left the door open. Because of that, we were able to get back into the condo. There was still the matter of me not having a way to drive home in the morning, so Sean was nice enough to rescue us by going to my house, finding my spare key and driving it up to me in Park City. He is so awesome and I'm lucky to have him. Thanks to him I was able to drive back down to the valley and enjoy a beautiful Sunday.
Pictures from this night to come...

I went and visited at my dad's house where my little brother was showing of his collection of nerf weaponry.

Later I went to Sean's for sunday dinner. After dinner we all spent some time outside where I ended up playing catch with Sean's brother in high heels. The funniest part of that was Sean's sister thought that I played softball until she saw me throw. The best way to describe how I throw would be "like a girl".

Good times!

Weekend recap.

Friday night, Sean and I spent the whole night talking. It was actually rather nice!

Saturday I took advantage of having no plans and relaxed to the fullest. Later, Traci and I went to dinner, then to the awards ceremony for the competition that the dance classes she teaches competed in. Her team got a Superior so congrats to Traci and her team! Later a whole bunch of us went "camping" in the desert. I say "camping" because it was too cold to stay over night. Basically we just hung out around the fire for a few hours.

[Mike, Traci and Skyler]

[looks like they finally found a use for last year's christmas tree!]

[Traci and I]

[Ally and I]

[Sean and I]

Sunday was another mellow and relaxing day. After dinner at Sean's house, Traci, Mike, Sean and I went to see 21. That was quite an entertaining movie. I really liked it.

So a pretty mellow weekend for me, but it sure was nice to relax!

Weekend recap.

I had a lot on my mind this weekend so my good friends decided to take my mind off things. Suzi, Aline and I went out to dinner on Friday night. Later it was back to Suzi's house for guitar hero and pool. It was nice to go out and not have much time to think too hard about things.

[Aline, Suzi and I - They make me look super tall!]

Saturday I did some Target browsing. This is something that always seems to cheer me up. I found a really cute pair of sunglasses and not much else. I wanted to buy a top and a dress I had previously tried on from the Jovovich-Hawk line, but of course they were sold out. I almost bought a couple books, but ended up putting them back. As usual, I couldn't decide on what jewelry to buy. No DVDs sounded good. It didn't matter that I didn't leave with much, I still felt better after I left.

[The new shades]

I spent a good part of the rest of my Saturday relaxing and watching seasons 8 and 9 of Friends. That show is great to keep your mind off things and make you laugh. Later, Ally, Savy, Aline, Suzi and I went bowling. I've decided that I'm much better at Wii bowling and maybe I should stick to that.

Weekend recap.

Saturday we all went out to dinner for Traci's birthday at Mountain Mike's Pizza. It was pretty good. After, we went over to Mike's to play House of the Dead 2 & 3 which is apparently an old arcade game where you kill zombies.

[Sean and Justin aka zombie slayers]

[Traci and Mike, Traci sporting her new hair a la Zach Norman]

[A blurry picture of Sean and I, but you can kind of see my new hair color in this one.]

Sunday, Sean and I went up to Darin's parents' house in Layton for Easter dinner and the kids' Easter egg hunt.

[Sean and I watching the hunt.]

[Playing with cute little Brutus.]

[The cousins with the results of the hunt.]

I had a great weekend! Too bad its over now!

Finally, a fun Wendover experience.

In honor of Traci's upcoming 22nd birthday, we took a Trip to Wendover. Sean, Traci, Mike and I went along with Mike's parents, Traci's parents and aunt. We watched season 2 of The Office in Sean's car on the way down, what a great way to pass the time on the road.

After we check into the hotel, we went down to the casino to meet Traci's mom and aunt and were there for less than five minutes before I got ID-ed. We went over to the Nugget to meet up with Mike's parents where Traci and I promptly got ID-ed again. I guess we looked like a couple of teenagers playing "Let's pretend to be adults." I don't love to gamble so I didn't take much money down to play. Traci loves the penny slots so I played with her and ended up losing nearly $20 on them. Lame.

Later we all hit up a blackjack table at the Nugget. The dealer was this guy named Jesus. I hated him. He was so pushy and rude. He kept saying stupid stuff such as, "You can't say no to Jesus." as a means to get us to play or bet more. Watch out for that guy if you're ever in Wendover. He's no good, I lost $20 at his table.

Dinner led to a new experience for me. At dinner, everyone except Traci and I were eating shrimp that you had to peel. It was so gross, they still had they're legs on! I don't eat seafood so this is something I've never come across before and it was something I really could've done without.

After dinner we wandered around for a while and ended up at the Rainbow casino. Sean, Mike, Traci and I were playing video poker for a while. After a bit, Sean left to find a restroom, the next thing I know some guy comes up, sits down and asks if that seat next to me was taken. I responded with, "I guess not." and prepared to ignore him. No such luck however. "Aren't you here with anybody?" the strange guy asked me. At this point I knew where this was going and got ready to drop the boyfriend word. I gestured to Mike and Traci who were to his right and said, "I'm here with my boyfriend and our friends." He turned to Mike and started talking to him at which point I stopped keeping up with the exchange due to the fact that we were sitting right in front of the live band. Next time I glanced over, the seat was once again empty. Later Mike told me that he introduced himself as "Tip" and announced that he was "kinda drunk." Too funny.

Next we squeezed our way into a nearly packed blackjack table. There were three men at this table that the dealer seemed to know by name. Turns out they're there a lot, but none of them knew each other. There was one guy that kept running to the ATM and coming back with $100 bills only to lose the entire $100 on one hand. He did this over and over. I kept begging him not to bet it all on one hand because it was killing me to see him throw all that money away. I have no idea how much ended up losing that night, but I'll bet it was more than I make in a month. Sean and I sat at that table for probably 3 hours, both of us slowing winning. I ended up winning back everything I had lost that day. It was great!

It was nice to finally spend a night in Wendover and actually have a good time with good company.

Icky thoughts.

While I was waiting for my friends to come over on Saturday night, I flipped on the TV to entertain myself. I saw that the movie "House of Wax" had just started on one channel. I've always wanted to watch the Paris Hilton's death scene in that movie because I had heard that it was pretty hilarious, plus Chad Michael Murray is pretty good looking. So I was flipping between that and "Chelsea Lately" until my friends got over, after that we just stuck to "House of Wax". Oh my gosh, what a sick show. Seriously, what kind of twisted minds come up with stuff like that. I can't get those images out of my mind now. I think I dream about it because the last two mornings I've woken up feeling a little off. A drop on the Radio From Hell show this morning made me think about it and I had to turn it down till that drop was over. I can't remember the last time a movie really affected me like this. I think I'll stick to my "No Horror Movies" rule from now on.

Weekend recap.

The last few days have been nuts for me. I've been so busy, I've barely had time to stop and think! I'll share some of the highlights with you.

Friday morning I had the opportunity to help a dear friend out and judge tryouts for Wendy's high school cheer squad. It was fun to be involved with something cheer related again, even for just a day. I was also flattered that she thought of me. It made me realize that I do miss cheering. Wendy was so cute providing us with great treats and by color coordinating all the judging materials. She's so neat! Wendy and I realized that we hadn't actually seen one another since high school, so it was great to get to visit with her in person once again.

After I finished the tryouts, I had to run straight home to pack up my room. I spent about 4.5 hours packing and cleaning. I was so exhausted at that point that I didn't know how I could possibly move everything at that point. Thankfully Sean showed up at that point to help me. Traci's parents were also great about getting the stuff down to my new bedroom for me. It was great to have the extra manpower. I sure couldn't have done it alone. We ran into an issue with my couches however. I had nowhere to store them. There was no room at Traci's house, my dad's house and they couldn't fit down the stairs at my mom's house. I was worried that I'd have to get rid of them, but my sister decided that she'd take them for her apartment. I do need a new TV stand now though as I decided my old was too much bulk to keep moving around. I was so exhausted that I passed out around 11pm that night, which is early for a Friday night.

Saturday was another busy day for me. I got up fairly early considering I like to sleep late on Saturdays. I had to go to my cousin's fiance's bridal shower. It was nice to see extended family that I hadn't seen in quite a long time. It also didn't hurt that they had some pretty good food to snack on while they're there.

After that it was time to head to Ashley's baby shower. Ashley and I have been friends since we were five. I've been through a lot with this girl so it was nice to be able to be there with her at her bridal shower. She is a little over a month away from her due date, but I'm sure she's feeling pretty ready now. She looks so adorable with her little belly! It was fun to get to see her family again as well. Ashley's house used to be my second house growing up, but I hadn't seen her parents or sister in years. There were also lots of other people that I hadn't seen in a long time, such as Megan. I hadn't seen her since she was pregnant with her first little boy and now her second is 8 months! It was such a nice few hours.

After the two showers, I finally had some time to unpack. I thought it would take forever to get everything in its place, but it really wasn't bad. It only took an hour or so to unpack everything. What a nice feeling it is to be all settled once again.

Sunday I had a meeting at panty heaven/hell. We had an opportunity to learn about some exciting new products and changes at the store. I do love working there a couple nights a week. My friend from work, Suzi, and I went to lunch after. She's such a fun girl to hang out with.

Later I got the opportunity to hang out with family again. Many people were up at my mom's for enchilada night. The food was delicious and I love being able to see my mom. We played apples to apples with 11 people! That was a challenge!

My weekend was great, but I'm sure ready for a break!

Weekend in review.

So, here is my weekend in review.

I messed up my sleep schedule pretty bad this weekend. I started the weekend out by going home from work and taking a 3.5 hour nap. So I stayed up till about 3am that night, which I usually cannot do. Saturday I took about a 2 hour nap so I stayed up till 3 again that night. Naturally, my body could not fall asleep last night so now I'm ready for another nap.

Saturday, Traci and I went looking for a place to live. We didn't really find much unfortunately. All the stuff in our price range was just so-so and the stuff we loved is more pricey. Typical, right? Of course. We'll have to keep looking I guess.

Sean and I went out to dinner with Mike and Traci Saturday night then went over to Mike's to watch movies. I saw The Chronicles of Narnia movie for the first time. I had forgotten how much I loved those books as a kid. I'm excited for the Prince Caspian movie now.

Sunday, we all got together at Mike's house to watch the game. I wasn't sure who to root for at first because I thought it would be cool to see a team have an undefeated season, but it would also be cool to see a team upset that perfect season. In the end I decided to root for the underdogs, the Giants. What a great 4th quarter that was! You almost feel sad for the Patriots though...

There were four dogs at Mike's house. If you know me at all, you know how I feel about animals, even dogs. For the most part they didn't do much of the things I hate about dogs, lick me, bark, jump on me, or put their noses on me. I did get a lot of drool on my. So nasty! There was a 5-month old bull dog there and he was actually pretty cute. He would just wiggle all over the place. I think Sean fell in love with him.

Well that about sums it up.

Friday, again.

I'm on the very brink of freedom right now.

At least for a couple days.

Its Friday again. Yippee!
The week kind of flew right on by for me. I'm still having a blast messing around with my new blackberry. I worked a couple of easy nights at VS. The season 4 premiere of LOST last night was awesome. Its left me with a lot to think about and more questions still. Can't wait for next week's episode. The snow this week has been nuts. I hope the weather mellows out because I'm kind of over the 50 minute commutes.

This weekend I've got to find a place to live. The countdown is on. Traci and I are gonna have to go house hunting sometime. The "big game" is this weekend. I kind of don't have an opinion about that, one way or the other. Its just there. I'm sure that I'll watch it with Sean's family or mine. Either way works.

I hope something exciting happens this weekend though. The last few have been kind of blah. Here's hoping for a great one!

Friday Blahs

Once again its Friday. I should be excited at the prospect of the weekend and being able to sleep in a little. I am excited about all that, but I've also got the blahs.

Its so cold in my office and even more cold outside. Its currently 21 degrees and its all overcast. Can we say "Ready for spring"?

My new work computer still hasn't shown up so I have to borrow someone else's computer every time I have work to do. The trouble is, business is slow and therefor so is the amount of work I have to. The break was nice at first, but now I'm just bored most of the day.

I basically want this work day to hurry up and be over already so my weekend can begin and my blahs go away. This weekend should be another good one. Jazz game tonight with the dad family and its Adam's birthday, he's 21 today. Traci and I are going to go hunting for a place to live tomorrow. I'm excited for that prospect. Sunday is a work meeting (early!) and later there is birthday stuff with the mom family.

So you can see why I'm ready for it to be 5pm!
