It all started when I decided that I wanted to catch up on the most recent season of Gossip Girl. Somewhere in the middle of the season, I lost track so I put the season on my Netflix and spent some of last weekend getting current. During one of the episodes, I heard a song that I loved, but didn't recognize the artist. I quickly grabbed my iPad and used the SoundHound app (similar to Shazam) to figure it out.
The results? Dog Days are Over by Florence and the Machine
I bought the track from Amazon and it's been on heavy repeat all week. That's not all--when I'm not listening to it, it's still playing in my head. I admit, I was dancing to it (in my head) a little while waiting at Starbucks.
Then...
I finally watched the VMAs on the Tivo and much to my surprise the very same artist was on the show performing the very same song that I had fallen for just days before AND it was nominated!
Guess I was late to the game, huh?
Anyway, I'm officially dubbing this my "Song of the Week!"
