I had to deconstruct the dress at the waist and take off about six inches. I had to reshape it. The elastic that was in there looked pretty old so I put a new one in. The one part of the project I couldn't picture was the gathering of the skirt to the waist. Thanks to Google, I was able to find a how-to article that put the vision in my head that I needed to complete the project.
It is probably not the best alteration job you've ever seen in the world, but I'm super proud of myself as this is the first time that I've ever attempted to do something like this. I'm quite pleased.
I don’t love to wear flats because I think I need the height, but these I thought these shoes went with the dress best out of any that I own.
What kind of shoes would you suggest I wear with this dress?

Love the flats and your dress. Thanks for the comment, sweetie. <3
I think it's retarded how you have people take pictures of you in every outfit you think is amazing cause you put together in odd places and get all modely. lol
oo great job with the altering. you did a fantastic job. I add a nice touch to the dress
Anonymous the blog stalker. Get some balls and leave your name or just drop off a very high cliff. Your jealousy is showing.
I'm so impressed! And I stay stick with those shoes, but that's just me. :)
So, Adiel, I have 2 questions for ya: 1)When are ya gonna turn that Fashionista Talent of yours to good use and start making the Benjamins? and, 2) Every thought of calling up Tyra and auditioning for America's Top Model? I'm SO serious, gal! BTW, Uncle Lynn has authorized another Great Pop'rs Giveaway--it starts tomorrow, so stay tuned!
right, I'm jealous of a girl with bad hair who could talk about herself for days
It looks great, the shoes are kinda perfect and YAY for enough fabric for the belt!
YOu did a great job! I think strapy heels would be cute!
that dress looks incredible on you!
i loveeee it.
@anonymous Apparently, if you're so obsessed you keep coming back for more.
red wedges--maybe even something with a pattern. And when you're done---just send the whole outfit my way. I'm an 8 but can squeeze into a 6 with my spanx on :)!
Sorry...got distracted. I love this dress and would like to inherit it from you. SO CUTE!!
You're beautiful Adiel, and I love to see you in your fashion forward outfits and with all your beautiful freinds.
And lol at Jennifer P. in her spanx!
This dress is so cute! And the red flats look amazing too. Congratulations on gathering the courage to do such a difficult alteration, girl! If you want, you can check a different alteration I did on a dress that didn't fit right:
