No such luck!
Sean ended up taking me out to dinner on Friday. We were at a sports bar so we managed to catch part of the opening ceremonies for the Olympics. I thought that their "cheerleaders" were interesting. I call them cheerleaders because it was pretty plain to me that that's what they were supposed to be. I say the pleated skirts were a dead giveaway. I did feel bad for them, step-clapping and spirit fingers for four hours in those boots can't have been fun, Olympics or no. Seeing Kobe Bryant's face on the screen over and over again made me want to throw up a little bit. Not to mention the fact that they were showing other athletes swooning all over him and getting their pictures taken with him. Ugh. Have a little self respect! Also, can someone tell me why everyone was wearing their white berets except for Carlos Boozer? George Bush was cute up there with his little American flag. I think that is it for my opening ceremonies commentary.
Saturday, my cheer girls had their first performance. I thought they did very well at it and I'm super proud of them!

Later that night, Sean and I went shoe shopping. Picky Sean couldn't find anything that was satisfactory to him and the mall is generally unsatisfactory for me these days. Everything I want is online! Then we hooked up with Mike and Traci to hang out. We watched a bit of the Olympics, got to See Michael Phelps get his first gold medal of this Olympics. Super exciting! Then Traci and I had our own Wii Olympics. I totally kicked her butt at Wii bowling for the first time, but she beat me at tennis. Mikey made us some delicious pasta and pancakes for a midnight snack.
Sunday, I finally got my wish and was able to finish Breaking Dawn and catch up on sleep.

hmmm yummy pancakes! that still sounds like a fun weekend.
Yeah for finishing Breaking Dawn!! My Turn. Your girls look so cute...I heart cheerleaders. But, pancakes and pasta?? Your guys have intereting tastes. Glad it was good. I agree with the Kobe Bryant thing. He makes me want to gag too. But how about Yao Ming ang that cute little boy who helped his classmates after the earthquake..and the lighting of the Olympic Flame. Love the Olympics.
I haven't voted in your poll because I'm a little bit on the fence about which direction to go. On the one hand, if you want people to be able to find your blog really easily, the names should match. On the other hand, if you want your branding to be about YOU, triplyksis is better because that's your internet persona and unites your online profiles and identities in a variety of places. Also, you do have a lot of links and connections and search engine representation just the way you are now, so it only makes sense to change it now if you think you might want to change it later because it would be better to lose steam now than when your blog is even bigger. I just got my own address (I'm just tatteredtaggedtreasured.com now!) and it was a difficult decision to make because I ideally want to cross-promote between the tag sale business and the blog and it's tough to say which type of address tag sale people would respond best to. In the end, I decided my name is long enough that removing the .blogspot was a good idea.
Your girls are so cute and I can't wait to hear what you think of Breaking Dawn.
Sounds like a busy weekend, and I agree, those pancakes do look yummy (I'm such a sucker for breakfast food). You'll have to let me know how you liked Breaking Dawn, I just started and haven't had much time to just fall into that world yet.
oh man I have been watching the Olympics nonstop! I get so into it, yelling and gasping and everything haha.
Sounds really fun! I missed the Opening Ceremonies, but I did go clubbing....
Congrats to your cheer girls, and also congrats to you for having a fun-filled weekend! My kids wanna get Wii--I might give in, 'cause the Wii Olympics would be fun! I enjoy reading your blog so much! That's why I've given you an award--please drop by the podium to pick up your honor. Congrats!
I just left you a little something on my blog....
Wow! You have been busy this week! Did your cheer girls perform at the Fire, Water, and Ice Festival? Well, I hope you enjoy "Breaking Dawn" it is AWESOME! I'm so sad that I'm done with it.
The girls look good. :)
Can't wait for their first game.
When is it again?
I wish I could have as much fun as you do!
Sounds like a fun filled weekend.
Thanks for your comment, love. xx
Unfortunately I didn't get to watch the opening ceremony live but I've been seeing snippets of it here and there.
I know how you feel about Kobe, he and some of the other b-ballers are just way too full of themselves.
Oh, and if there's one thing George Bush knows how to do, it's having a good time.
Sounds&looks like a gorgeous weekend. I really admire you for taking the time to patiently summarize and highlight everything important in your life. Makes your blog so unique!
Wow, cheerleading! I always wish to be thegirl right at the top!!!
Omigosh, you're a cheer coach?! That's so amazing. I'm a basketball cheerleader (no football at my school haha) and I was pulled up to Varsity the end of my freshman year, and now as a Junior it'll be my second full year! Congrats, we did that same liberty stunt in your second picture :)
peace&love
nicole.
Congrats on your crew; they look like a solid bunch.
