When I was standing outside the doors of my local Target at quarter to 8 am on Sunday morning in 35 degree weather, I found myself wondering what I was doing. This, my friend, is what I was doing: scooping up my part of the Prabal Gurung for Target collection. I mean, of course I was going to shop this collection. I've been obsessed with Prabal's mirrored prints since they walked down the Spring 2012 RTW runway.
Being the fifth one in line, I was able to get everything I wanted to try on (at least of the things this local had in stock). It was tricky to hunt down the shoes, I and the gal who was first in line scoured the shoe department only to find not a single pair of Prabal shoes. After checking with the Target staff, they ended up finding a few boxes full of shoe boxed that had literally just arrived. I got to literally pull every shoe they had in my size and try them all on to decide which I wanted to take home.
After some time in the dressing room, this is what I left with:
Naturally I couldn't resist wearing a pair of my new pieces right away. I assembled an outfit that nearly anyone can replicate. Besides the two Prabal pieces, all you need is a leather moto jacket and a pair of cuffed jeans. Easy peasy.
AND... it's the debut of the new addition to my handbag family. I've been having a string of good luck on Poshmark lately and recently scored this Rachel Zoe Morrison tote for a fraction of the cost! I love a good deal!
While the collection was brilliantly designed, I found this to be the poorest quality of any Target collaboration. My shoes starting falling apart within hours of putting them on and every piece of clothing I purchased has stray threads and fabric fibers sticking out.
I just can't wait until spring so that I can wear this top without a jacket because the shoulder detail is really nice!
What did you snag from the Prabal collection? Did you get your crazy on in the store like me or did you shop online?
