Personally, I loved the 90's. From TV to music to fashion, it was all very good. That's why I'm pretty stoked that the trends have rolled around so that I can have another go at that fun time in fashion history. Given that I was a mere child during the last grunge heyday, I never really had a chance to partake, just admire, so I'm really into it this go around.
For this modern take on the grunge look, I nixed destroyed denim and opted for a bright pair of skinny ankle jeans paired with a literal graphic print tee and buckled ankle booties. On top I wore a mixed media moto jacket and wrapped the plaid flannel shirt around my hips. I'm not going to lie, I missed this practical styling option because you never know when you're going to need an extra layer!
Tortoise "Number One" sunglasses - Karen Walker | Red lips - NARS "Heat Wave" | White "Nouveau Grunge" tee - Zara | Black mixed media moto jacket - Forever 21 | Plaid flannel shirt - H&M | Indigo blue skinny ankle jeans - Gap | Black "Morrison" tote - Rachel Zoe via Poshmark | Black cut-out ankle booties - Zigi Soho c/o DSW
