As you may expect, comfort tends to be at the top of mind when considering wardrobe choices these days. The epitome of no fuss, in my opinion, is a maxi dress. But when it comes to a black maxi dress, the challenge is to keep it from being too basic and the solution for that is always in the accessories. To give my little black maxi dress an air of summer, I added a bright, lightweight scarf over my shoulders and a crisp white panama hat. I also donned a pair of metallic espadrille sandals and carried my trusty fits-everything-in-it bag.

A few common questions these days…

Q. How are you feeling?
A. Surprisingly good! I'm really tired all the time, but as it turns out, I'm anemic. So at least I know there is something else going on besides the fact that I'm growing a tiny human inside my body. I know I have some tough months ahead of me, especially now that I'm in the third trimester,

Q. Any weird cravings?
A. No strange combinations or anything, but I get strong fixations on specific things. Mostly sweets, specifically ice cream and frozen yogurt. There was one weekend where I was all about the donuts and--oops!--I think I ate half a dozen of them that weekend. Another time I really wanted rainbow cake with rainbow chip frosting. That's when I found out that the best frosting in the world has actually been discontinued. Way to crush a pregnant woman's dreams, Betty Crocker!

Q. You work out a lot. You're pregnant and should take advantage of relaxing. Why?
A. There are many reasons, actually. One is that I'm determined to keep my weight gain on track so I need to battle my constant craving for sweets. Since I was already working out prior to becoming pregnant, all my doctors say it's perfectly okay to continue as long as I'm listing to my body and taking care to stay hydrated. Every check up I have, we confirm the baby's growth is on track and that I'm still healthy enough to exercise. Another important reason is that I've read being active throughout your pregnancy can actually make labor a lot easier to deal with, so I'm really crossing my fingers on that one. Finally, I happen to like working out. The studio I go to has amazing classes with some of the best instructors I've ever come across. Not to mention I finally have a lot of friends who attend with me.

Q. You have a name picked out yet?
A. Nah. I don't think we will decide anything until she's born. We have a running list that is semi-private. Once she is born, we think we'll just run down the list and hope that one of the names sounds best. This is proving a little tricky because I keep finding cute things with monograms and full names that I want to buy NOW, but won't be able to until she has a name.

Q. Have you bought a lot of stuff for the baby?
A. Not too much, surprisingly. We're focusing on the big things like crib, car seat, and stroller first and will fill in the rest as we continue to get closer to the day she arrives. However, we do have the crib and on Father's Day, my fella put it together! Seeing it sitting there has really kicked my nesting instincts into high gear.
