The Host - my review
I finished reading The Host this weekend and Apple Joos requested hearing what I thought about it. I don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil it for anyone that is planning to read it. Here is my review of the book on goodreads.com.
The Host: A Novel by Stephenie Meyer
rating: 5 of 5 stars
I liked that I was able to feel for both sides of the story. I couldn't decide who I wanted to "win". The entire time that I was reading I was wondering how this book could possibly end in a satisfactory manner. I couldn't come up with anything that was going to make me happy. Luckily, Stephenie was able to.

Thanks! I felt the same way you did. I went through thinking "This is going to end in an unhappy way and I won't have any kind of resolve." She managed to make it work, though!
I agree. I love the way she writes. Its so captivating. I'm gonna need that book then... Lisa is wanting to read it. She just finished Twilight. The Father is right behind her. :)
Hmmm, I was very bored by all but the first of the twilight novels.... and I was sad about it because I LOVED the first one. Overt melodrama doesn't work for me though, so I may try this one since it won't be about teens! I'm just not sure if I want to spend any more $ on her books after the last two I read, haha.
This book is nothing like the Twilight series. Not to mention its an entirely different kind of read because its written for adults rather than teens.
The Twilight series is enough of an easy read that I mostly just count it as a guilty pleasure.
