Granny Shirt

After my first successful alteration project, I've been kind of wanting to buy old clothes and alter them for me.

At the thrift store, the stripes on this shirt called to me. The faded stripes and the lightweight fabric wanted me. Something about this top reminds me of my grandma. Either she had a shirt like this or she had something similar to this.
I had to have it.

Let me tell you, this shirt is gigantic. The sleeves have no cuff, they just flow loosely mid-forearm. I cannot wait to make some changes to it and see what I come up with. I'm not sure what exactly I want to do with it yet, all I know is that I have a lot of material to work with.

Before I alter it, I wanted to wear it "as is" first.

This is the outfit I pulled together.

Adiel, I absolutely love this shirt. I have no idea what you'd alter about it, as it seems perfect to me as it is. This outfit is pure casual chicness. So pretty!

Oh, you fashionista, you! My daughters are into thrift stores. College Girl has one down the street from campus. The store's name is the Thrift Shoppe. The kids all call it the "Shoppy." College Girl has taken several peaks at your blog and is really getting inspired! :)

You look, as always, so very cute. The dress is great and the shirt reminds me of the 80's. So fun!
