Mixed Metals Manicure

I've been wanting to do a mixed metals manicure for a while now and I decided to finally go for it when I picked up a bottle of rose gold-colored Orly polish called Rage last weekend.

So I pulled together a handful of metallic lacquers; gold, rose gold, copper, silver, and a top coat, of course!

I used scotch tape to section off my nails, starting with my lightest color, silver. I started with my left pinky painting triangles on each finger. By the time I got to my right pinky, the left was dry so I started the process again with the gold polish. Then I continued the cycle with the rose gold and copper colored polishes. My polish was a little uneven and far from smooth at this point, but one coat of Seche Vite fixed that right up!

And the finished product...

I'm pretty pleased with the results!

This was a pretty time consuming mani, it even took more time than my Missoni-inspired mani!

People always ask how I find time to do my nails. It's simple, really.
I watch way too much TV.

So to make myself feel better, I always multitask while I watch. Polishing my nails just happens to be a really great activity to do while watching my shows.

I started this mani right after I turned on Part II of Kim's Fairytale Wedding (So OTT and I loved it!) and I was swiping on the top coat when Kris Jenner was talking about how their family continues to grow, so it took about two hours.

Totally worth it to me, though.

What do you think? Can you see yourself rockin' a mixed metals mani?
