Don't you love those times when you're not even really trying to find something to buy and all of the sudden you strike gold. Well it happened to me, quite literally, with this golden beaded beauty of a jacket. You know I love me a crazy, sparkly jacket and have a soft spot for shoulder pads. So it shouldn't surprise anyone that my jaw dropped when I saw this show up on my screen when browsing Poshmark one day. I knew right away that it had to be mine!
Wearing a crazy piece like this is always tricky. Wear it wrong and you can easily look like the grandmother of the bride. Luckily for me, I have more narrow shoulders so the padding just helps to make me look more balanced. As for the decadent beading? I make that daytime-worthy by rocking it over a printed t-shirt and cuffed jeans. Nude wedges, a basic black tote, and a silver initial necklace keep the look relatively simple. But when I decided to wear my hear pulled up and had to pick out earrings, I spotted the neon rhinestone pieces I made in early 2011 and just couldn't resist.
I pretty much love the way this wild smorgasbord of an outfit turned out.
