I don't really do the crop top thing, but it's not for the reasons you may think. The thing is, crop tops aren't exactly cropped on me because I have a slightly shorter torso than what seems to be normal. Instead they usually just hit at the top of my hips. But this customizable cropped sweater from Bow & Drape was too good to pass up.
I think the best way to rock a cropped top is with something high-waisted on bottom so I paired it with a high-waisted pencil skirt. Because it's winter (and crop tops are not office-appropriate) I wore a plain black camisole underneath the sweater and donned tights with knee-high boots.

perfect bit of whimsy in this outfit -- and the boots are TO DIE FOR.
Agreed that the boots are TO DIE FOR! Great way to make crop tops work for you AND the office. I just bought a crop top to pair with a maxi skirt yesterday :) The skirt can be rolled down or rolled up to high waisted.
This outfit ROCKS. Those boots are so beyond amazing!!

Love this look! I want those boots!
Love this outfit, a much more tasteful crop. We can leave those crop tops at Coachella :)
SO KILLER! My gosh - between the top, the skirt, the boots, the lip color! I think this is my most favorite outfit you have ever worn! :) Finally, a way I could totally see myself wearing a crop top! (Um, totally pinning!)
